Facing views of Ganesh-Langtang-Jugal Himal with Gaurishankar, Melung-Tse with Everest range as far towards Makalu towards Far East horizon. This trekking is the extended version of the Pikey Peak Trek 7 Days. where a horse riding package has been added

Certainly an adventure that takes you to serene wilderness within pristine environment covered with dense rhododendron-magnolia-oaks and pine tree lines, in spring time the hills are alive when wild-flowers are in full bloom turning the whole Pikey Hill areas into magic with riots of colorful flowers especially the Rhododendron, the national flower of Nepal.

Pikey Peak Horse riding starts with jeep overland ride to reach the starting point of the journey at Phaplu or near-about to begin the horse ride on a special strong Tibetan pony, a smaller breed of horse.

Where horse riding takes you at remote and rural farm villages of Jampre to reach beneath of Pikey Peak top, as our horse ride leads uphill into enchanting forest to reach our major highlight spot at Pikey Peak, actually a high hill stands above 4,302 m/14,114 ft facing tremendous panorama of Mid-West to Far Eastern Himalaya range of peaks.

After a glorious time then visit nice villages of Junbesi with Thuben Choeling monastery, then ending the horse ride reaching at Phaplu a place with a small airstrip and nice Sherpa village, where drive brings you back at Kathmandu after a great adventure and experience on Pikey Peak Horse Riding Trek.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu to by Sharing Jeep -9 hours.
Day 02: Horse Ride to Jampre (2,920 meters/9,581 feet) -4/5 hours.
Day 03: Horse Ride to Pikey Base Camp (3,640 meters/11,942 feet)-6/7 hours.
Day 04: Horse Ride to Pikey Peak (4,302 meters/14,114 feets) with sunrise view then trek down to Loding (2,515 meters/8,251 feet)-7/8 hours.
Day 05: Horse ride to Junbesi (2,675 meters/ 8776 feet) via Thubtenchoeling Monastery-4/5 hours.
Day 06: Horse Ride to Phaplu (2,413 meters/7,918 feet) – 4/5 hours.
Day 07: Phaplu to Kathmandu by Sharing Jeep-10/11 hours.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu to Phaplu by Sharing Jeep -9 hours. 
Morning depart from the hotel for exciting long overland journey towards east of Nepal and Kathmandu with drive to reach the starting point of horse ride and trek from Phaplu near Salleri.

As ride leads ups and downhill past rural farm villages and town to reach at Solu district town of Phaplu and Salleri. An interesting overland journey on bumpy and winding rough dirt road to reach at large town and village of Salleri of mixed tribe of people mostly Sherpa, Tamang, Magar and Rais with some Hindu Brahmins and Chettries people and for overnight stop in this lovely large village or a moderate size town  after a long interesting drive of more than eight to nine hours .

Day 02: Horse Ride to Jampre 2,920 m/ 9,581 ft - 04/5 hrs.
Morning walk through farm terraces, rural villages to reach Jampre a small farm village, situated beneath high hills of Lamjura and Pikey danda with views of Numbur peaks.

From Phaplu, first day horse ride with some short walks leads downhill and ups through farm villages to reach nearLikhu River and then with few short ups over terraced farm fields to reach at Jampre a moderate size farm village.

Day 03: Horse Ride to Pikey Base Camp 3,640 m/11,942 ft- 06/7 hrs.
Today horse ride begins heading at the base of Pikey Peak base camp following forested path with grazing summer pasture for chattels of nearby local villages, the area with least human settlement as walk heads at the bottom of Pikey Peak base camp around a wide field with small farm village.  

As this route slowly getting popular at present only few small nice lodges has been established to accommodate trekkers and visitors to Pikey Peak top.

Day 04: Horse Ride to Pikey Hill 4,302 m/14,114 ft with sunrise view then ride and walk to Loding 2,515 m/ 8,251 ft- 07/8 hrs.
Starting early morning with packed lunch heading into dense forested areas full of rhododendron, magnolia-pines-firs-oaks and birch trees with few short down and more uphill to climb to reach our final and major destination on top Pikey Peak and a high Hill ridge at 4, 302 m high, rewards you with superb panorama of Jugal Himal range of peaks includes Gaurishankar-Melung Tse-Numbur with Mt. Everest and adjoining peaks of Khumbu within Everest range.

After a delightful moment with superb views walk downhill to reach at Loding village for overnight stop after an exciting scenic and good exciting horse ride and some walks of the day.

Day 05: Horse ride to Junbesi 2,675 m/ 8776 ft via Thubten Choeling Monastery- 04/5 hrs.
Morning a short horse ride and walk leads to lovely Sherpa large village of Junbesi, an impressive village with an interesting monastery and a high school funded by Hillary Trust and Foundation, here with enough time to browse around Junbesi village.

From this lovely Junbesi village, a short horse riding of 3-4 hours to reach a Buddhist nunnery and monastery at Thupten Chuling monastery area, from Junbesi horse ride on nice maintain trail leading on least traveled region.

Where trekkers often visit, as horse ride progress enjoying surrounding views of landscapes with distant Numbur peaks, slowly ride enters monastery premises at Thupten Chuling.

Afternoon relax and visit the monastery and the nunnery of great interest and importance to Buddhism followers. 

Day 06: Horse Ride to Phaplu 2,413 m/7,918 ft - 04/5 hrs.
Today our last day of horse riding and walks as our route leads back to more farm villages within Solu area, horse ride on pleasant gradual winding trail with more downhill entering into tree lines of rhododendron-pines and fir trees reaching at the main trail towards Salleri and Phaplu.

Our horse ride continues on downhill path past villages to reach at Phaplu where we will take an overland drive back to Kathmandu next early morning, at Phaplu overnight in nice Sherpa lodge with time for short walk around the village.

Day 07: Phaplu to Kathmandu by Sharing Jeep-10/11 hrs.
Getting up early to catch the views and drive back to Kathmandu from Phaplu  as drive depart from Phaplu entering high hills with downhill past villages and town and then finally reaching back in hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, and then transfer back to your hotels after memorable experience in perfect wilderness on Pikey Peak Horse Riding and Treks.
