Baruntse Expedition is Located in Khumbu area of eastern Nepal, Baruntse (7,129 m) is situated in the center of three glacial valleys – Hanku, Barun and Imja. This mountain houses a central place between some of the highest peaks in the Himalayas, and the summit-day prizes include the spectacular views of the mountains, Everest and Makalu.

Baruntse is identified as one of the 7,000-meter high peaks to climb the Himalayas. The road to the southeast ridge is not technically demanding and essentially a direct snow and ice climb with some straight sections. There is a 50-degree inclination at an altitude of about 7,000 meters and there are some demanding sections of a major ice-rock, which add a challenging aspect to this climb. The climb includes many components of the 8,000-meter-climbing climb and it can be considered a good training peak for higher purposes.

The mountain was first climbed on May 30, 1954, through South Ridge by the Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow of New Zealand Ridge.

Apart from the Baruntse Expedition, the campaign searches for a remote part of Nepal with stunning Himalayan views and interesting local culture. A return trip includes a crossing of Amphu Disk nearby.
