Mera Peak with Everest Base Camp Trek is the beautiful climbing and trekking places in Everest Region.  Moreover, Amphu Laptsa passed is techically a difficult high pass. Camping and best guiding  are most important for this trip. Experience Sherpa guide necessary as well as good weathers.

However, weather is the important for during the climbing time. Mera and Amphu Laptsa are challenging parts. For more than one week, climbers need to stay in tents, no teahouses.

Mera peak is 6,461 meters high from sea level. This is an easier trekking peak than Amu Laptsa pass. Khare is the last and highest village for Mera Peak teahouses.

Khare to High Camp, pre climbing training at Camp. Next day at midnight time start for Mera peak climbing. Technically, this peak is not  difficult. However, if snow and icefall, that’s the situation will be wrose. That’s why, trekkers and climbers choose the best season for climbing. Mera Peak is the best viewpoint for mountains and glaciers.

01: How fit should one be physically to take the challenge on this adventure?

Trekkers and climbers are normally physically fit to join in this tough adventure with climb of high Mera Peak that includes adventurous traverse over Amphu-Labtsa pass. However for some beginners with great interest for adventure walks and climb where fitness level and medical health should be in good form as per your doctor advice to join in this trip.

02: What types of physical and breathing exercise suggested?

Basic knowledge on alpine climb will be an advantage for this trip, with enough good exercise after booking the trip early at least minimum month ahead, so that you can have enough time to practice physical fitness exercise, like jogging for few kms walking up and down the steps. Aerobic and Jumba or swimming is another good routine to help and plan this tough trek and climb, as for breathing exercise which come natural for some people, however some Yoga and meditation is another good way to exercise breathing and to keep you healthy for the trip.

03: Do we spend in tents and camping all through the treks and climb?

Yes, but not all nights on this program of ours as you are aware after going through our excellent itinerary days and details. Our adventure takes you to remote areas away from main villages and towns with non facility of lodge to stay most of nights on this adventure after leaving Lukla where walk takes you to complete wilderness of mountains, where camping facility provided by the company. Camping includes two men (sharing) tents, with small foam mattress or inflatable, dining tents as group size, toilet tents with dug-out holes, separate unit of kitchen
with cooking tents followed by expert cook, kitchen staff and strong porters to carry all camping equipment and your baggage. Expert guides lead you on top Mera Peak as well over Amphu Labtsa-la pass, after the pass on entering Imjatse valley where you will have comfort of nice local lodge all the way to Lukla. Please study our itinerary from Day 12 onwards on main trails with overnights in lodge.

04: If some people gets seriously ill with AMS or other sickness what is the procedure to bring the sick victims at safe place to recover?

White Hill Adventure always takes you around safe and sound, but accident and some illness might happen like AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) or another personal health hazard. depending upon the seriousness and severe condition we try to bring the person down at safe heights to recover accompanied by our guide-staff and porters if the illness persists and critical, the only means is calling for helicopter to evacuate the victims as soon as possible. Helicopter can fly on good weather conditions and on open terrain country to land and lift the victims, sick person will be lifted to nearest hospital for good medical care. Where insurance should cover all medical expenses and Helicopter evacuation before the person leaves from Nepal.

05: What types of meals to expect from camping cooks?

Nearly all types of meals from simple and famous Nepalese Dal Bhat (boiled rice- lentil with some mild vegetable curry or sauce), our expert cook can serve you continental, Chinese, Indian to other popular international dishes and fresh bakery products. All meals are set by our cook as per your ration allowance serving you with excellent meals from breakfast-lunch and dinner.

06: Which is the best time for Mera Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek?

March to May and September to November months, March to May will be lovely with wild flowers in season which you will notice from Lukla on route Mera Peak, where most of the days are clear for views and walks, can be cold in the night and morning time as well in shade. Can get snowed sometimes even in March to May months in all high Himalaya range, September to November another best time for walks on clear and fine weather, but with short day light due to autumn-fall seasons and cold with freezing temperatures especially morning and night times, where you can expect some snow on higher areas as well on passes.

07: What age group can do this trekking and climb?

Person with great interest can do this trek and climb on good health and physically fit to encounter rough terrains with ups and steep descend, however above 16 to 55 years will be good (depends on insurance policy where elder people above 50 years will be hard to get insurance with proposed facility)

08: We will be away from villages how we can re-charge our gadgets?

It is true will be away from villages with no facility to charge your phones, laptops or cameras, for this reason one should be prepared to bring extra more batteries and good charger, where one can bring portable solar panel and power to charge your gadgets. The only place to charge will be from Chukung onward after crossing Amphu Labtsa Pass at extra cost.
