Firstly, White Hill Adventure organizes a private jeep right from your hotel in Pokhara to reach a hill village at Ulleri. And then start walking with a slow climb to reach Ghorepani Poon Hill village. Ghorepani village is surrounded by a green forest of rhododendron trees and is listed as the world’s natural garden. However, you can witness in springtime when wildflowers are in blooming time in the month of March to May.
At Ghorepani overnight in a nice and cozy local lodge run by the Poon / Magar tribe the main inhabitants of the area. From Ghorepani many mountain views including the Dhaulagiri Himalayan range. The next morning hike for an hour to reach on top of scenic Poon Hill and the highest spot of the adventure. During the beautiful spot Poon Hill, catch the spectacular sunrise view over the chain of Himalayan peaks with the world’s three highest mountains Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu including the magnificent Machhapuchare ‘Fish-Tail’ peak.

Short Poon Hill Trek 2 days Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Drive to Ulleri 1,960 m from Pokhara 860 m. And trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m (3 hrs drive and 04-05 hrs walk). Overnight stay in Ghorepani.
Day 02: Morning hike to Poon Hill 3,210 m. Trek to Ulleri and drive to Pokhara – 06 hrs with drives and walks.
Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Drive to Ulleri 1,960 m/ 6,430 ft from Pokhara 860 m / 2,821 ft and trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m / 9448 ft (3 hrs drive and 04-05 hrs walks) overnight in Ghorepani nice lodge.
Morning our Guide will come to pick up you at your Pokhara Hotel. From where sharing a jeep drive takes you outskirts of Pokhara Valley to reach Nayapul and Bhirethati village, and then continue to drive past farm villages and beautiful waterfalls to reach Hile and Tikhedhunga. From here our ride leads on winding uphill around a mountain road to reach lovely Ulleri village with views of Annapurna South and the top of Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’. On reaching Ulleri village our walk starts heading past Bhanthati village, and then into the cool forest covered with tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks-pines and fir trees as the walk continues with slowly up to Ghorepani village for an overnight stop. Ghorepani populated by Poon people of the Magar tribe located beneath Poon Hill's viewpoint.

Day 02: Morning hike to Poon Hill 3,210 m /10, 531ft and trek to Ulleri and drive to Pokhara - 06 hrs with drives and walks.
Early morning starts where an hour hike takes you to the top scenic view-point at Poon Hill located 3,210 m high, enjoy stunning sunrise views over a chain of Himalayan mountains Dhaulagiri, Mustang Himal, Nilgiri’s, Annapurna, Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish-Tail peak with Lamjung and Manaslu range of peaks.
After a scenic and dramatic moment descend to Ghorepani and have breakfast continue downhill within the forested area past Bhanthati village to reach Ulleri where our Sharing jeep takes you back to beautiful Pokhara.
(Note: Sharing jeeps are not stand by anytime, you have to walk 2 hours downhill or hire a private jeep. It costs 50 USD extra for a group)

How many people on a private Jeep?
Depending upon the number of groups for the trek where we can arrange for one person up to a maximum of 6 persons in one vehicle from Pokhara to Ulleri and back.
Is it all uphill to reach Ghorepani and Poon Hill?
From Ulleri onward where trails lead-ups but gradually with few short steep sections before Ghorepani village located in a top called Deurali.
As for Poon Hill a climb for an hour to reach the scenic viewpoint, which happens early morning with cool temperatures to make the walk easier.
How are local lodges and the facility of toilets and showers?
All lodges at Ghorepani are of standard quality where one can stay in single or rooms with double beds, some lodge that we accommodate our clients do have attached toilets with a facility of a hot shower.
