Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Drive from Pokhara 860m/2821ft to Nayapul and trek to Ulleri 1,960 m / 6,430ft) -05 hrs
With pleasant overnight stop in Pokhara, where morning short drive leads you to the starting point of our trek at Nayapul town or from Bhirethati village, a nice place on the side of Modi River, where walk starts heading with slow uphill into villages overlooking cascading waterfalls entering forest and farm areas with climb to reach at Tirkhedhunga, a nice farm village close to its beautiful waterfalls. From Tirkhedhunga morning walk up hill on stone paved steps all the way to reach a high ridge top at Ulleri village for overnight stops after a tough walk of few hours. Ulleri a large Gurung and Magar village facing views of rolling hills and snow capped peaks of Annapurna South, Huin Chuli and top of Machhapuchare Himal.
Day 02: Trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m / 9,448 ft - 05 hrs.
From Ulleri after a pleasant overnight morning walk continues on winding gentle path within oaks-pines and rhododendron forest, and then slowly gaining altitude to reach at Ghorepani village. Ghorepani offers fantastic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Vara-Shikar also called Annapurna Fang, village with blue painted houses serving as good lodges located at the base of Poon Hill, populated with Poon people of Magar ethnic tribe.
Day 03: Trek to Tatopani (1,150m /3,772ft) (Hot Spring) via Poon Hill View (3,210m /10,531ft) - 06hrs.
Starting early morning hour hike to Poon-Hill above 3,210 m and 10,531 ft high, offers stunning views of sunrise over range of mountains from Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu to Annapurna and as far to Ganesh Himal including Mt. Machhapuchare “The Fish Tail”. After enjoying wide angle panorama views of mountains with sunrise walk back to Ghorepani and then continue trek downhill within serene forest of rhododendron past Chitre and Sikha village to reach at warmer lower area at Tatopani village with hot natural spring to enjoy.
Day 04: Trek to Kalopani (2,530m / 8,300 ft) - 05hrs.
Morning walk leads on motorable road for sometimes heading with a climb past Dhana and beautiful waterfall of Rupsi Charo, slowly walk enters into cooler alpine woodland then reaching a nice Thakali village at Ghasa, the starting point of Mustang district. After a pleasant stop at Ghasa where walk leads uphill into cool serene forested areas for sometimes to reach at a small settlement in Lete with few shops and lodge. From here a short walk to nice Kalapani village for overnight stop facing fabulous views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri on both side of the trail, as walk leads past world deepest gorge of Kali-Gandaki.
Day 05: Trek To Jomsom (2,720m / 8,923ft)- 05 hrs
After a pleasant overnight stop at Kalopani with views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri on both side of the trail, morning walk leads past world deepest gorge of Kali-Gandaki, where our route leads into a wide river valley to reach pretty Tukuche village beneath towering Dhaulagiri and Tukuche peaks with Nilgiri’s. With refreshing stops walk continues for another hour to reach one of most charming village at Marpha with white washed houses and neat paved streets. The area around Marpha and Jomsom famous for delicious apples, often known as Apple Pie Trail, from Marpha heading higher into windswept dry country with an hour walk to Jomsom for overnight stop, within headquarter town of whole Mustang area, and the hub of Thakali people with a small airstrip that takes you to Pokhara at the end of trek.
Day 06: Trek To Muktinath (3760m /12,335 ft)- 05 hrs.
From Jomsom walk heads towards Kali-Gandaki River valley, a good walk of 2-3 hours reaches you at Kagbeni village, where strong influence of Tibetan culture dominates from here onward. Morning walk from Eklay Bhatti or Kagbeni starts with steep climb on deserted landscape, caves, old Tibetan style villages, apple gardens, yak and sheep grazing land within peaceful and happy local folk of Jharkot village where we can take a tour of its old and interesting monastery believed to be built around 15th Century. From here our walk continues for another hour towards Muktinath following a steeply ascending path to reach at Rani Pauwa near the holy temple premises of Muktinath.
Muktinath an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhist, here you can witness natural flames In the heart of this sunny, magical valley of Muktinath, one of the most sacred of pilgrimage places of Nepal and Himalaya region. Here, the natural elements are displayed in miraculous form-flickering blue flames of natural methane gas burn on water, stone and earth in an offering said to have been first lighted by Brahma, the Hindu creator. Overnight in one of its many good and cozy lodges overlooking views of Dhaulagiri-Tukuche and Nilgiri’s peaks this place located on route famous and popular Annapurna circuit trekking trail. Here with time to visit the holy Muktinath Temple meaning ‘Liberty or Nirvana’ with its sacred old 108 water spouts believed as one of the source of great Kaligandaki River.
Day 07: Trek to Jomsom (2,720m / 8,923ft) -05hrs.
Morning catching wonderful views of snowcapped peaks our last day walk leads downhill to valley floor at Kaligandaki River valley near at Eklay Bhatti, from here retrace the journey back to Jomsom with time in the afternoon to explore this interesting town of Thakali people, early merchant and traders with Tibet.
Day 08: Drive To Pokhara (860m / 2,821ft).
Morning after breakfast drive back to Pokhara around 67 hrs journey by Bus with Beautiful Mountian Views. Afternoon free to enjoy the views of Annapurna Himalaya and beautiful Phewa Lake.
