Overview

Annapurna Circuit Short Trek is an adventure of a little over a week duration. Amazing to know that one can cover a great beautiful country of high Manang Valley with the high Thorang-la pass  (5416m) in a short time distance.

White Hill Adventure Treks offers you this unique possibility for interested people with limited time in Nepal but with dreams of being amid high Himalayan and experiencing high altitude gain along with the grand mountain range.

In the first place, exciting overland drives to reach low warm areas of Nepal Mid-West around Lamjung areas at Beshisahar. From here the next day we will drive around 4 hrs to  Dharapani village and explore the local village. From here we will start to trek with beautiful landscapes and mountain views up to Chame, Pisang, and Manang Valley.

At Manang with time to support acclimatization exploring the cultural village of great interest along with fascinating views also, In the harmony of Buddhist culture and traditional farm life of the high villagers of Manang.

After Manang heading due northwest to cross one of the highest passes of the Himalayas above  (Thorong-La 5,416 m / 17,769 ft) facing incredible views and the panorama of both sides of the country Manang and Mustang mountains that includes.

Finally, after the passes, we will reach Muktinath holy temples. Next day morning trek to Jomsom where the scenic short flight takes you to the beautiful city of Pokhara. The especially amazing natural beauty of lakes, mountains, and green hills is a wonderful place to conclude our marvelous adventure Annapurna Circuit Short Trek.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu to Besisahar (840m / 2,755 ft) by bus - 6/7 hrs.

The morning begins with an exciting and interesting overland journey on the bus to reach at Nepal Mid-West at Besisaharr a headquarter town of Lamjung district, located on warm agriculture farm area.

Day 02: From Besisahar drive to Dharapani 1, 860m/6,102ft on Jeep ride - 4 hrs.

After an overnight stop at Besisahar,  continue journey riding on a Jeep a four-wheel drive to tackle mountain and hilly road of ups and downs. Morning drive on a gradual winding trail to Syange, Jagat and Chamje villages, and following Marysangdi River heading into the forested area, with superb views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges. Drive continues to  Dharapani village for an overnight stop.

Day 03:  Trek to Chame 2,670 m/8,759 ft- 5/6 hrs.

Morning walk begins within cool rhododendron and pine forest past Bagachap and Danque villages, then heading with steep climb of short while to Timang village, from here onwards into more Buddhist area, facing views of Mt. Manaslu from here a few hours treks lead you at a large town in Chame for overnight stop, a major place and headquarter of Manang district.

Day 04: Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m/10,597 ft - 5/6 hrs.

From here air gets cooler as walk leads closer into mountains through the beautiful forest of rhododendron and pine trees, following the Masrsyangdi River upstream to Bhratang village. After this village with uphill into pine trees to Dhukure Pokhari a small place with few lodge and views of Chulu and Pisang peak, after a lunch stop walk downhill to Pisang village for overnight stop.

Day 05: Trek to Manang (3,450 m/11,318 ft) - 4/5 hrs.

Pisang village offers views of mountains as walk leads towards woodland and short uphill looking towards staggering Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulus and Pisang peak. As walk leads at Hongde village, from here tree lines disappear for barren, landscapes with cold, dry arctic climate. Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics and then an hour walk brings at Manang village. The houses around the Manang area built in a traditional Tibetan style and Manang people are known for their rich culture and traditions.

Day 06: Rest day at Manang for local hikes and acclimatization.

A necessary rest day for acclimatization before heading higher elevation, explore Manang village, located beneath Annapurna and Gangapurna mountain range and Manang glacial Lake.

Day 07: Trek to Ledar 4,200 m / 13,779 ft - 4/5 hrs.

After a pleasant rest at Manang, morning walk leads to Ghunsang village on a gentle uphill path to Yak Kharka, an interesting high altitude trekking with super views of snowcapped mountains, then crossing a small stream river to reach Yak Kharka, a small settlement with tremendous views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks. From here walk for less than hour to reach our overnight stop at Ledar a small place with few nice lodges facing grand views of Chulu West towards North direction with other high peaks.

Day 08: Trek to Thorang high camp 4,600 m/15,091 ft - 03 /4 hrs.

Morning walk leads on a high area, to reach the base of Thorang-la, after climb along the river bank, walk leads to Thorang Phedi and then an hour of steep climb brings you at Thorang High Camp for the overnight stop.

Day 09: Trek to Muktinath via Thorang-La pass (5,416 m/17,769 ft) - 7/8 hrs.

Our main day of the adventure, having early breakfast as trek follows to the long climb up at Thorang-la taking a steep haul on the winding path to reach Thorang La Pass at 5,416 m / 17,769 ft. The highest point of the trip, offers super views of surrounding high snow-capped peaks, on reaching the main highlight of the adventure, and then taking long descend to reach at Muktinath located above 3,800 m high. On reaching Muktinath for an overnight stop, a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhists the word Muktinath means ‘place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

Day 10: Trek to Jomsom (2,715 m / 8,907 ft)

After breakfast start journey from Muktinath to Jomsom trek leads to big drop at wide Kaligandaki River Valley and following the beautiful village to reach a large town of Jomsom, headquarter of Mustang area and home to Thakali people the tribe of Kaligandaki and Lower Mustang valley. Stay overnight at hotel. 

Day 11: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara 850 m.- 20 minutes flight

Early morning transfer to Jomsom airport then boards in a small aircraft for the scenic swift flight to reach beautiful Pokhara, a city of glorious mountain views and lakes. From Pokhara airport, a short drive reaches nice hotel by the calm lake of Phewa with enough time for individual activities in this beautiful city at Pokhara.

Day 12: Drive to Kathmandu.6/7 hrs

After a great memorable time in mountain around Annapurna, we will drive to Kathmandu with your guides. He will drop you to your Kathmandu hotel. You can visit our office for share your experience with us. And we are looking excellent reviews and your recommendations.

The trek was a perfect mixture of great culture and amazing scenery with the challenge of making it over the 5400m of Thorong La Pass thrown in.
