Ama-Dablam Climbing Expeditions with Everest base camp trek.A great combination and adventure with proper acclimatization and orientation within high Khumbu area, before the classic climb to the summit at 6,184 m and 22, 355 ft high peak of Ama-Dablam.Ama-Dablam in Sherpa and Tibetan language means “Mother with Jewel Box” certainly it looks like a Mother with great flanks of smaller peaks as shoulder of the main peak with huge Iceberg attached on the neck of the mountain looking like a small jewel box.

Ama Dablam (6,814m) situated at the top above the Imja Khola valley in the Khumbu, just above the summer settlement of Dingboche and on the south eastern area from the village of Pangboche, it is regarded as one of the most beautiful mountain in the whole of Himalaya and probably in the world.It is slowly becoming popular among hardy adventurer and mountaineers to climb this beautiful peak, which is of high technical effort from either side of this mountain, perched near the Imjatse Valley and Panch Pokhari region.Mt. Ama-Dablam expedition offers a superb climbing experience in a magnificent setting, with Buddhist culture and scenic diversions.The mountain’s impressive beauty has made it a highly coveted prize for climbers. Since its first ascent 1961 by and Anglo-American New Zealand team, it has been climbed frequently and by many different routes.White Hill Adventure route will be by original South West Ridge. This provides excellent climb, sustained as reasonable level of difficulty and with good camp platforms at strategic points along the route.Mt. Ama-Dablam Climbing Expeditions starts with short flight to Lukla, the start and ending point of all adventure destinations around Khumbu and Everest region, from Lukla walk begins through lovely farm villages of Sherpas visiting Ghat- Phakding – Monjo to reach at famous Namche Bazaar.

At Namche with rest day for acclimatization and short excursion, our adventure continues leading into enchanting rhododendron-pines and fir forest with views of Mt. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport where White Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition staff will receive and then transfer you to respective hotels around Kathmandu city. After getting refreshed from the flight our guide briefs you with information of hotel, Kathmandu and Mt. Ama-Dablam Expeditions with welcome dinner in a nice Nepali restaurant.

Day 02: Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
Morning our city guide will take you for sightseeing tour at places of interest as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites, temples, monasteries, old king’s palaces after an interesting tour back to hotel, preparation for Ama Dablam Expeditions.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m – 04 hrs.
Morning flight to Lukla with mountain views including Everest, on reaching Lukla with time for rest, then start first day trekking to Phakding village. Walk leads past farm villages with few short ups and down, beautiful views along the walk to Phakding for overnight stop.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 05 hrs.
After overnight at Phakding, morning trek leads over Dudh Kosi River and then past interesting villages of Toc-Toc, Bhenkar and Monjo to reach at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate.From here walk on riverbanks for few hours, on crossing last bridge with climb to famous Namche Bazaar where you can explore this small town with facilities of nice restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.

Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
A right place for rest and acclimatization day before trek to higher country, here take a short hike to Everest View Hotel or walk to Namche view point above at Sagarmatha National Park museum for super views of Everest, Amadablam and adjoining peaks, and visit of museum.

Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m – 05hrs.
From Namche walk leads on scenic path with downhill to Phunge-Tenga for lunch, then climb into rhododendron and pine forest with views of peaks. On reaching Thyangboche visit into monastery with panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamasarku, Kwande and majestic Amadablam.

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m – 05hrs.
Morning walk leads downhill for an hour and then cross over Imjatse River, after the bridge entering open exposed area where tree lines disappear for short juniper and rhododendron bushes. Trek uphill to Pangboche village at 3,900 meters.Pangboche last permanent village to Dingboche and beyond, from here a short climb to Somara for lunch and continue with climb to Dingboche village for overnight stop, located in beautiful Imjatse valley with panorama of mountains.

Day 08: Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.
Another rest day for good acclimatization, a short hike to Nakarjung hills offers views of Mt. Makalu and other adjoining mountains.

Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs.
After rest at Dingboche morning walk continues with steep climb for an hour with excellent views of the valley and mountains, and slowly walking on gentle path leading at Thugla for lunch, where Khumbu glacier melts turning into a torrential river.Here trail from Pheriche joins, after rest and lunch a steep climb for an hour to Thugla ridge top, where you can see many stone memorials of unfortunate climbers who died climbing Mt. Everest, Lhotse and other high mountains.From here an hour of nice pleasant walk to Lobuche for overnight stop.

Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep 5,170 m and Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and return to Gorakshep – 06 hrs.
Today our final adventure leads to Everest Base Camp, starting with moderate walk for few hour and then climb over glacier and moraine to Gorakshep located at the bottom of Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar hill and view point.From here walk to Everest Base Camp following the path close to Khumbu glacier all the way to base camp. On reaching base camp marvel the views of Kuhmbu Ice Fall and glaciers. After enjoying views of ice falls and mountains, completing our aim and dreams, walk back to Goarkshep for overnight stop.

Day 11: Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Pangboche 3, 900 m – 06 hrs.
Morning climb on top to Kalapathar at 5,545 meters, highest point of this trip with panorama of mountains and views of Mt. Everest at close distance. After a great time descend back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue trek to Thugla with downhill to Pheriche, from here another hour of good walk to Pangboche in the comfort of nice lodge this will be last overnight in a lodge before the climb of Ama-Dablam.

Day 12: Trek to Ama-Dablam Base Camp 4,580 m – 04 hrs.
From the camp downhill to Imjatse River and then cross a small wooden bridge, after the river a steep climb of an hour reaching a large meadow with couple of Shepard huts. From here the walk is on the gradual uphill path till the base of Ama Dablam is reached. The camp is set on large wide field beneath majestic Mt. Ama Dablam.

Day 13: Rest Day at Base Camp preparation for the climb.
A rest day at base camp preparation for the climb where one hike to advance camp with views of beautiful landscapes and mountains during the high walk, afternoon relax and with final setting for next day adventure.

Day 14-25: Ascent of Ama-Dablam (12 days to summit).
White Hill Adventure reserves 12 days for the summit bid, during this few days engrossed dividing loads and checking your equipment for the final assault.It is hard to predict the exact day by day itinerary for this period. The team will be broken down into climbing groups who will work on the mountain for several days before returning for a rest at Base Camp. While one group is pushing out the route and fixing ropes another maybe carrying loads up to higher camps.Ray Delaney climbed the South West ridge of Ama Dablam with Joe Simpson in April 1990.

From Base Camp following old grassy moraine ridges eastwards to a broad saddle from one can see a Mingbo-La. From the saddle turn north and climb up rocky ground and finally through boulders to the ridge below Pt.5, 705 which is the site of camp I. There are four or five tents platforms.
From Camp I: Cross a rocky bowl (tricky if snow covered) until below two rock fingers, then move on to a ridge proper. Climbing the ridge involves rock climbing of severe standard with steps of VS (USA 5.6) Camp II is at the top yellow tower, which gives one of the hardest pitches on the climb at VS/Hard VS (5.8).

From Camp II:
Skirt a red rock bluff on the east and follow a ramp line to a gray tower. Move into the ramp (some stone fall danger) and climb to an amphitheater. Continue up a broad gully on between the gray tower and the lower rock buttress and climb a snow slope to ‘ Santa’s Grotto’ at the start of Mushroom ridge.Climb on snow and Ice slope to the right following a mix ground to the top of the highest hanging glacier. An ice crest now leads in a magnificent position to the summit.From the summit with grand vista after a memorable to and classic climb descend back to base camp using Advance camp on route

Day 26: Cleaning up at Base Camp.
After great tough days on climb to the summit and feeling at ease on reaching base camp with overnights, today start cleaning garbage and packing gears as Nepal Himalaya has thousands of trekkers and climbing peaks every year. As a result, piles of unwanted trash and rubbish exist,White Hill Adventure Treks and with Government effort help and support in reducing pollution around as we do have responsibility towards Mother Nature. So clean up the base camp which will be a help reducing the impacts of global warming, then pack up necessary stuff and prepare for return journey.

Day 27: Trek to Thyangboche – 05 hrs.
Return journey an easy walk dropping heights every few hours with downhill with few short ups to Pangboche and then after the bridge two hours climb to Thyangboche for overnight stop.

Day 28: Trek to Monjo 2,860m – 06 hrs.
After a great time on high mountains descend to Imjatse River with climb for an hour to Sanasa. From here walk with few short up and downs to Namche Bazaar, after a nice stop, downhill walk to Dudh Kosi river valley to Monjo for overnight stop.

Day 29: Trek to Lukla – 04 hrs.
Morning walk leads back to Phakding and then back to Lukla with final climb of this adventure, and then on reaching Lukla celebrate our last day in Everest area with fellow trekkers and staff.

Day 30: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
From Lukla an early morning flight to Kathmandu, at Kathmandu domestic airport our guide and staff transfer you back to your hotels with rest of the day free for individual activities.

Day 31: In Kathmandu free day with sightseeing tour.
A free day in Kathmandu as contingency day in case of flight delay and cancellation in Lukla which can happen sometimes due to bad weather conditions, on this free day enjoy with individual activities and shopping, leader and guide have to submit the report of the expeditions at respective Government department for future records with rest of the day at leisure with farewell dinner.

Day 32: International departure for home ward bound.
After a memorable and great adventure in Nepal with amazing Mt. Ama-Dablam expeditions around Everest area, and great services of White Hills Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition guides, our staff transfers you for final departure homeward bound flights.
