From Tumlingtar walk starts from Num hill village after taking a bumpy drive on the hilly rough road to Num, and then begin the trek with long descend to cross a bridge over Arun River.

Descend to a bridge and climb to reach a small farm village Sedua village and then to Tashi Gaon, mostly inhabited by Sherpa people, this is the last village on route Barun Valley and Makalu base camp.

After the last village of Tashi-Gaon towards higher hills and mountainous area to reach at Barun valley a unique and scenic valley an unspoiled a pristine area within Himalaya, as few trekkers often travel around this remote corners of Barun valley.

Covered by fir, birch and rhododendron tree lines from 3,000 m to above 4,000 m high; where 47 varieties of orchids, 67 species of valuable medicinal and exotic plants, 30 varieties of rhododendron, 19 species of bamboo, 15 oaks, more than 400 species of birds have been sighted within  Barun valley, including two species never before seen in Nepal, the spotted wren babbler and the olive ground warbler.

Wildlife includes the endangered red panda, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, clouded leopard and possibly the snow leopard, in addition to more substantial populations of Ghoral, Himalayan Thar, wild boar, barking deer, Himalayan marmot and weasel, common languor monkey and the Serow.

Barun valley a scenic place enclosed by a range of high peaks with world 5th tallest Mt. Makalu, Baruntse and Chamlang Himal with rare views of the eastern side of Mt. Everest known as Khansung Face.

From Barun valley, interested trekkers can walk right at the base of Mt. Makalu located within the beautiful area of Barun valley, as a form of Makalu Base Camp and Barun Valley Trek a perfect place to enjoy a fantastic panorama of the high snow-capped mountain range.

For more adventurous trekkers can extend the walk with a climb over high Makalu and Barun West Col or Sherpani-la pass to reach around high Khumbu valley within Everest region from beautiful Barun Valley.
