Ghorepani Poon hill Horse Riding Trek, a super combination of comfort riding on a horse with some walks to scenic viewpoint hills in the shade of massive Himalaya.

Short drive from Pokhara to gets on the horse for an exciting ride heading towards nice villages and waterfalls. Our horse riding takes you past Bhirethati-Tirkhedhunga and Ulleri villages.

As horse riding continues entering dense rhododendron and pine forest to reach the wonderful spot in home of Poon a Magar tribes with grand views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. 

Therefore, we ride up early morning to a climb to the famous viewpoint on Poon Hill where you can see panoramic mountain views.

After glorious and exciting views descend towards Ghorepani for the onward journey through alpine woodland to reach Tadapani and Ghandruk village. And trek continues to Nayapul then drive back to Pokhara.

Likewise, you can stay a couple of days in Pokhara after hiking. Pokhara is a beautiful city in Nepal, which is situated bank of Phewa lake. And there are more popular places for sightseeing tours. It is called Davi’s Falls, Cave, and world peace pagoda.

Day 01: Drive from Pokhara 860 m/2821 ft to Nayapul, Horse ride and trek to Ulleri 1,960 m/ 6,430 ft- 5/6 hrs.
Day 02: Horse ride, walk to Ghorepani 2,880 m/9,448 ft- 5/6 hrs.
Day 03: Horse ride and trek to Tadapani 2,630 m/6,828 ft via Poon Hill 3,210 m /10,531 ft -5/6 hrs.
Day 04: Horse ride to Ghandruk Village 1,940 m/6,364 ft-04 hrs.
Day 05: Horse ride to Nayapul 1,050 m and drive to Pokhara 860 m/ 2,821 ft- 05 hrs.

Ghorepani Poonhill Horse Riding trek Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Drive from Pokhara 860m/2821ft to Nayapul, Horse ride to Ulleri 1,960 m/ 6,430 ft- 05/6hrs.         
Beginning our wonderful adventure taking a short drive to reach outskirt of Pokhara valley at Nayapul and Bhirethati village, where our horse will be ready for you ride along with the guidance of our guide, as horse ride leads uphill past farm villages and beautiful waterfalls to reach Hille and Tirkhedhunga.

From here on the steep climb on a horse riding to reach first overnight stop in a lovely Ulleri village with views of Annapurna South and top of Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’.

Day 02: Horse ride, walk to Ghorepani 2,880 m/9,448 ft-5/6hrs.
The second day of marvelous horse riding takes you on top Ulleri village and past Bhanthati village, where ride leads into a cool shade of alpine forest covered with tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks-pines and fir trees as horse ride proceeds slowly to Ghorepani village for the overnight stop. Ghorepani populated by Poon people of Magar tribe located beneath Poon Hill viewpoint.                                                                                                 

Day 03: Horse ride and trek to Tadapani 2,630m/6,828 ft via Poon Hill 3,210 m /10,531ft -05/6 hrs.
Rising early morning with mountains cool fresh air, as horse ride takes you up to scenic view-point on top the highest spot of the adventure at Poon Hill situated above 3,210 m high, where will catch stunning views of sunrise over chain of Himalayan peaks from Dhaulagiri, Mustang Himal, Nilgiri’s, Annapurna, Machhapuchare peak with Lamjung and Manaslu Himal.

After a scenic and dramatic moment descend to Ghorepani having breakfast continue horse ride uphill to Deurali within forested area and downhill to another Bhanthati village.

After a refreshing stop downhill to a stream and short climb up to reach at Tadapani for overnight located in the midst of a forest.

Day 04: Horse Ride to Ghandruk Village 1,940 m/6,364 ft - 04 hrs.    
Today a short day as well horse needs to rest where morning leads along with mountain views through lovely tree lines and then downhill to reach an open area with views of Annapurna Himal.

With refreshing break ride on good winding path and then downhill to a large Gurung people village at Ghandruk for overnight stop as well for lunch time.        

Here afternoon free to stroll around Gurung village and witness the hill people culture and heritage farm life visiting its interesting Gurung museum along with the views of Annapurna peaks.                                                                    

Day 05: Horse ride to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara - 05 hrs.
Morning ride on horse downhill to Modi River near Syali Bazaar then on good path horse riding towards Bhirethati unto Nayapul where horse riding ends for few hour drive back to Pokhara, after a most enjoyable and scenic time of high hills on Ghorepani and Poon Hill horse riding.
