Introduction:

White Hill Adventure Treks & Expeditions offers an exciting and fabulous adventure towards Northern Annapurna Himalaya with Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto -la high pass.Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto -la adventure leads around scenic Annapurna circuit trekking on the main trail for some days, and then towards remote and isolated areas of Manang and Mustang area.Starting this wonderful Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto -la with an interesting drive towards Lamjung area, where this trek begins heading high above Manang valley.Trek leads past nice cultural villages of Jagat-Dharapani-Chame and to windswept scenic valley at Manang, here with time for acclimatization and exploring traditional Tibetan style villages of Buddhist culture.

From Manang our walk leads past from the main Annapurna circuit trail to complete isolation at beautiful Tilicho a glacial lake, one of the highest lakes around Nepal Himalaya.After a wonderful time at Tilicho Lake our adventure leads over high Mesokanta pass at 5,099 m to reach Mustang area at Jomsom, the headquarter town of Mustang district.Our marvelous adventure Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto –la trekking completes at Jomsom with scenic flight to picturesque Pokhara after a great time in the high mountains with great services of White Hill Adventure Treks & Expeditions.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 02: Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
Day 03: Drive to Dharapani 1,920 m via Jagat 1,290 m and Beshishar 800 m – 08 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Chame 2,670 m – 05 hours.
Day 05: Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m – 05 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Manang Village 3,450 m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: Rest day at Manang for local hikes and acclimatization.
Day 08: Trek to Khangsar 3,734 – 05 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Tilicho Lake 4,140 m – 04 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Tilicho Base Camp 4, 800 m – 04 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Nama Phu 3,510m via Masokanto La 5,099 m -06 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Kaisang 3,280m of further to Thinigaon 2,850m -06 hrs.
Day 13: Trek to Jomsom 2,713 m – 02 hrs.
Day 14: Fly to Pokhara 860 m – 22 mins and transfer to hotel.
Day 15: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu – 06 hrs (30 mins by air)
Day 16: International departure homeward bound.

Trip detail:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport where White Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition staff will receive and then transfer you to respective hotels around Kathmandu city. After getting refreshed from the flight our guide briefs you with information of hotel, Kathmandu and Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-la trekking.

 Day 02: Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
Morning our city guide will take you for sightseeing tour at places of interest as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites, temples, monasteries, old king’s palaces after an interesting tour back to hotel, preparation for Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-la trekking.

 Day 03:  Drive to Dharapani 1,920 m via Jagat 1,290 m and Beshishar 800 m – 08 hrs.

Morning with interesting and scenic long drive towards Nepal mid west, journey leads to Beshishar town then on the dirt road to Khudi, Bhulbhule and Ngadi following the Marsyangdi River upstream, drive continues through rice terraces fields and villages to Syange, from here with a slow climb to Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges for trekkers.From Jagat village drive leads for another hour to reach at Dharapani village for overnight stop, Dharapani a nice village situated on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

 Day 04: Trek to Chame 2,670 m – 05 hours.

Starting first day walk from Dharapani along winding trail into rhododendron and pine forest passing villages of Bagachap and Danque to Timang village from here onwards into more Buddhist culture, with views of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft, from Timang village few hours trek to Koto and then to Chame town for overnight stop.

Chame a major and headquarter town of Manang area.

Day 05: Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m – 05 hrs.

From here air gets cooler as walk leads close to mountains through alpine forests of rhododendron and pine trees, following Marshyangdi River upstream with few ups and down hills to Bhratang village.

From Bhratang village walk uphill through woodland to Dhukure Pokhari, a small place with teahouses and lodge with views of Chulu and Pisang peak, after lunch descend to lower Pisang village for overnight stop.

Day 06: Trek to Manang Village 3,450 m – 05 hrs.

Pisang village offers great views of mountains, from here altitude gains leading through forest with short climb with views of Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulu’s and Pisang peak. Walking on flat valley to Hongde village, from here onward tree lines disappear for barren and arid landscapes with cold, dry arctic climate.

Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches at Manang village.

Day 07: Rest day at Manang for local hikes and acclimatization.

An important and necessary rest day to get acclimatize before heading higher elevation and to Thorang-la pass, in Manang short hike and explore Manang village and valley, Manang a large village situated on windswept valley at the bank of Marsyangdi River beneath Annapurna and Gangapurna mountain range, a nice walk uphill for views of Gangapurna Glacier and the Manang emerald Lake.

Day 08: Trek to Khangsar 3,734 – 05 hrs.

After Manang village morning walk leads to another highlight of this trip, as our route diverts from main Annapurna circuit trail reaching one of the last village of Manang at Khangsar for overnight stop which lies on route to Tiliocho Lake.

Day 09:       Trek to Tilicho Lake 4,140 m – 04 hrs.

From here onwards around dry and arid country, morning walk on downhill for some time, then uphill to reach Tilicho Lake for overnight stop.

Tilicho Lake a holy spot for both Hindu’s and Buddhist religions, offering wonderful views of snowcapped peaks in the comfort of nice lodge by the bank of beautiful Tilicho Lake.

Day 10:       Trek to Tilicho Base Camp 4,800 m – 04 hrs.
After Tilicho Lake, morning walk further to remote areas of Manang valley, after a tough morning walk reaching at Mesokanto-La or Tilicho Base Camp, our highest overnight camp of this adventure at 4,800 meters high.

Overnight camp is set on a nice meadow, with chances of spotting some wild-life like antelopes, musk deer or elusive snow leopard.

Day 11:      Trek to Nama Phu 3,510m via Mesokanto La 5,099 m – 06 hrs.
Today a long and Big Day of this trip! Starting the climb early morn to cross two high passes, over Tilicho pass then downhill walk to the base of Mesokanto pass, after a rest then climb over Mesokanto-la pass with steep climb to reach the ridge at 5,099 meters.

On reaching the top ridge and the pass descend to our overnight camp in a small place at Nama phu.

Day 12:       Trek to Thinigaon 2,850 m via Kaisang- 07 hrs.
After the hard and tough walk, this morning an easy day trekking with downhill to reach at Kaligandaki valley with views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Nilgiris peaks. This nice walk leads to Kaisang and continue further to a large village at Thinigaon for overnight stop, located above Jomsom and Kaligandaki Valley.

Day 13:      Trek to Jomsom 2,713m – 02 hrs.

This morning our last day of trekking of this exciting adventure, enjoying with downhill walk to Jomsom town, located above Kaligandaki River.On arrival at Jomsom, headquarter town of Mustang area with many excellent lodge and hotels for overnight accommodation.

Day 14:           Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara 860 m – 20 mins flight.
Early breakfast and transfer to Jomsom airport for sweeping short flight of 25 minutes to Pokhara, during airborne spectacular views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiris and Annapurna range of mountains with rolling hills dotted with farm villages,

On reaching Pokhara airport transfer to respective hotels by the serene lake Phewa, afternoon free for individual activities or just relax and enjoy the views of the Annapurna Himalaya.

Day 15:           Drive or fly back to Kathmandu.
From Pokhara drive to Kathmandu after a wonderful trip to Tilcho & Mesokanto-la,
on reaching Kathmandu transfer to your hotels. (options by air 30 minutes scenic flight to Kathmandu)

 Day 16:           International departure for home ward bound.

After a memorable and great adventure in Nepal with Tilcho & Mesokanto-la trekking and great services of White Hills Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition guides, our staff transfers you for final departure homeward bound flights.
