Introduction:

Island Peak Climb with Everest base camp trek a great combination with an adventure of life time experience. White Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition leads this great trek and climb in the company of our strong and expert guides and staff showing you the wonders of Himalaya its culture and art of climbing peaks. After a scenic flight to Lukla and then walking through interesting farm villages of Sherpa people with impressive culture then reaching at famous Namche Bazaar, here with rest and acclimatization and hen heading higher past beautiful Thyangboche monastery.

Walk leads past the forest to reach windblown country to reach Everest base camp, surrounded with giant peaks, glaciers and tumbling huge boulders of ice of Khumbu Ice falls, certainly a mind-blowing experience of a life time in the midst of world highest mountains that encircles base camp and high Kalapathar hill top at 5,545 m.

From here heading to our main highlight for the climb of Island peaks also called Imjatse Peak summit at 6,189m/ 20,305ft, and climbing grade as PD + ( Peu Difficile / a little technical difficult and walking on glaciers) the grade as per Swiss / French Alpine System. After much preparation our guide will lead you to the top of the summit where you will feel on top of the world with high spirit at above 6.189 m.

Day 01:            Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport where White Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition staff will receive and then transfer you to respective hotels around Kathmandu city. After getting refreshed from the flight our guide briefs you with information of hotel, Kathmandu and Island Peak Climb with Everest Base Camp trekking includes welcome dinner in a nice Nepali restaurant.

Day 02:            Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
Morning our city guide will take you for sightseeing tour at places of interest as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites, temples, monasteries, old king’s palaces after an interesting tour back to hotel, preparation for Island Peak Climb and Everest base camp trekking.

Day 03:            Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m – 04 hrs.

Morning flight to Lukla with mountain views including Everest, on reaching Lukla with time for rest, then start first day trekking to Phakding village. Walk leads past farm villages with few short ups and down, beautiful views along the walk to Phakding for overnight stop.

Day 04:            Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 05 hrs.

After overnight at Phakding, morning trek leads over Dudh Kosi River and then past interesting villages of Toc-Toc, Bhenkar and Monjo to reach at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate.

From here walk on riverbanks for few hours, on crossing last bridge with climb to famous Namche Bazaar where you can explore this small town with facilities of nice restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.

Day 05:            Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
A right place for rest and acclimatization day before trek to higher country, here take a short hike to Everest View Hotel or walk to Namche view point above at Sagarmatha National Park museum for super views of Everest, Amadablam and adjoining peaks, and visit of museum.

Day 06:            Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m – 05hrs.

From Namche walk leads on scenic path with downhill to Phunge-Tenga for lunch, then climb into rhododendron and pine forest with views of peaks. On reaching Thyangboche visit into monastery with panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamasarku, Kwande and majestic Amadablam.

Day 07:            Trek to Pheriche 4,240 m – 05hrs.

Morning walk leads downhill for an hour and then cross over Imjatse River, after the bridge entering open exposed area where tree lines disappear for short juniper and rhododendron bushes. Trek uphill to Pangboche village at 3,900 meters.Pangboche last permanent village to Dingboche and beyond, from here a short climb to Somara for lunch and continue with climb with downhill to Pheriche village for overnight stop, located in beautiful windy valley with panorama of mountains.

Day 08:            Rest day at Pheriche for acclimatization and excursion.
Another rest day for good acclimatization, a short hike to Nakarjung hills offers views of Mt. Makalu and other adjoining mountains afternoon rest and preparation for next day walk towards Everest base camp.  Pheriche has small health post run by NRA (Nepal Rescue Associations).

Day 09:            Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs.

After rest in Periche morning walk continues with steep climb for an hour with excellent views of the valley and mountains, and slowly walking on gentle path leading at Thugla for lunch, where Khumbu glacier melts turning into a torrential river.Here trail from Pheriche joins, after rest and lunch a steep climb for an hour to Thugla ridge top, where you can see many stone memorials of unfortunate climbers who died climbing Mt. Everest, Lhotse and other high mountains.

From here an hour of nice pleasant walk to Lobuche for overnight stop.

Day 10:            Trek to Gorak Shep 5,170 m and Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and return to Gorakshep – 06 hrs.

Today our final adventure leads to Everest Base Camp, starting with moderate walk for few hour and then climb over glacier and moraine to Gorakshep located at the bottom of Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar hill and view point.

From here walk to Everest Base Camp following the path close to Khumbu glacier all the way to base camp. On reaching base camp marvel the views of Kuhmbu Ice Fall and glaciers. After enjoying views of ice falls and mountains, completing our aim and dreams, walk back to Goarkshep for overnight stop.

Day 11:            Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Chukung 4,730m – 05 hrs.
Morning climb on top to Kalapathar at 5,545 meters, highest point of this trip with panorama of mountains and views of Mt. Everest at close distance. After a great time descend back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue trek to Thugla with downhill to Imjatse valley at Dingboche and another few hours walk leads at the end of the valley in Chukung for overnight stop.

 Day 12:            Trek to Island / Imjatse Peak Base Camp 4,970m – 04 hrs.
After Chukung walk to the end of Imjatse valley at Parsya Gyab and to Island Peak Base Camp, walk leads with steep climb towards south then on the moraine along the left bank of Lhotse glacier and the following glacial streams to the snout of Imja glacier and crossing a dry lake between Lhotse and Imja glaciers to reach at base camp around Pareshaya Gyab, afternoon free to relax with acclimatization. 

Day 13:            Rest day at Base Camp.
A full rest day for acclimatization, preparation and checking gears before climb of Island peak, free day for short hike around this beautiful area.

 Day 14:            Trek & Climb to High Camp 5,400m – 03 hrs.
After a rest day at base camp, walk further up to set High Camp this makes more approachable to reach the summit of Island / Imjatse peak, normally climbers make it from the base camp to the summit, but it is always safe and better to add one more camp before the summit bid, morning after leaving base camp with another short day walk which leads to a small climb to high camp, morning walk leads south-east around Island Peak over the moraine, then scrambling up an open gully leading in between two well defined ridges and to the high camp below a small hanging glacier at 5, 280m, afternoon with time for preparations for big day.

 Day 15: Climb Island Peak 6,189m and return to base camp – 06 hrs.
After final preparations then starting before dawn with a climb across broad open gully, following a snow-covered glacier above, avoiding crevasses climbing northwards over snow covered scree between glacier and base of the main top ridge.

Our climb leads to cross a gully with some stone and icefall danger, a steep snow and ice ramp leads upwards for nearly 100 meters (300ft) to the top of the summit, on reaching top with success, from top of the summit overlooking striking panorama that surrounds you with world’s highest mountains lies before you with offering unmatched views of Mt. Everest 8,848 m, Lhotse 8,501 m, Mt. Ama-Dablam 6,856 m, Mt. Makalu 8, 463 m, Chamlang and Baruntse peaks in the far distance, after an experience of a life time descend on the same route towards base camp.

 Day 16:            Reserve and Contingency day in case of bad weather condition.

We have reserved this spare days as contingency, in case of unfavorable weather conditions some times in this high Himalayan range, the weather can be unpredictable, so an extra day on this type of adventure is very necessary, if all goes well can be used on the way back to Lukla with short day walk enjoying the great scenery along the way.

 Day 17:            Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m – 05 hrs.
After a great experience climb of Island or Imjatse peak, return trek to Lukla back into villages, with few uphill’s over moraine, then reaching at Chukhung with views of snowcapped mountains, after a short stop continue walk to overnight stop at Dingboche in the comfort of nice lodge with mountain views.

 Day 18:            Trek to Thyangboche – 05 hrs.

Return journey an easy walk dropping heights every few hours with downhill with few short ups to Pangboche and then after the bridge two hours climb to Thyangboche for overnight stop.

Day 19:            Trek to Monjo 2,860m – 06 hrs.
After a great time on high mountains descend to Imjatse River with climb for an hour to Sanasa. From here walk with few short up and downs to Namche Bazaar, after a nice stop, downhill walk to Dudh Kosi river valley to Monjo for overnight stop.

 Day 20:            Trek to Lukla – 04 hrs.

Morning walk leads back to Phakding and then back to Lukla with final climb of this adventure, and then on reaching Lukla celebrate our last day in Everest area with fellow trekkers and staff.
Day 21:            Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
From Lukla an early morning flight to Kathmandu, at Kathmandu domestic airport our guide and staff transfer you back to your hotels with rest of the day free for individual activities.

Day 22:            In Kathmandu free day with sightseeing tour.
A reserve or spare day in Kathmandu in case of flight delay or cancellation due to bad weather which occurs sometimes, as Himalayan weather can be unpredictable if all goes well enjoy the extra day with tour around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur.

Day 23:            International departure for home ward bound.
After a memorable time and great adventure around Khumbu area with Island Peak climb and Everest Base Camp trekking, with excellent services of White Hills Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition guides, as per the flight time our staff transfers you for the final departure homeward bound.
