Introduction:

White Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition offers an outstanding and marvelous long duration trekking, on the least visited to mainstream route from Arun Valley to Everest Base Camp.

A spectacular adventure leading into remote villages of eastern Himalaya around high country and crossing high Salpa pass, separating Arun valley area and Solu-Khumbu region.

Starting this fabulous Arun Valley to Everest Base Camp trekking with short flight to warm areas of Arun valley at Tumlingtar town, located on a shelf of great Arun River.

From this warm semi tropical area starts our adventure following Arun River for some time and then leading past mid hill villages of Kartighat-Gothe bazaar and over Salpa at 3,349 meters high pass through thick lovely rhododendron and pine forest.

As the walk progress reaching traditional Sherpa villages of Buddhist culture on the quiet trail with grand views of mountains.

Slowly our trek joins the main popular trekking trail to Everest near Lukla and following the busy route to famous Namche Bazaar and Thyangboche monastery to reach our destination at Everest Base Camp, here marvel the views of Khumbu glacier and ice falls and hike to the top of Kalapathar for excellent views of Mt. Everest with adjoin peaks.

This marvelous adventure concludes with downhill walk to Lukla for the flight back to Kathmandu after a great time on Arun Valley to Everest Base Camp trekking with great service and company of White Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition and its guides and staff.

Day 01:           Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:           In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour and trek preparations.

Day 05:           Trek to Gothe bazaar 800m- 06 hours.

Day 20:           Trek to Gorak-Shep 5,170 m and Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and to Gorakshep.
Day 21:           Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Pheriche 4,240m – 05 hrs.
Day 22:           Trek to Thyangboche – 05 hrs.
Day 23:           Trek to Monjo 2,860m – 06 hrs.
Day 24:           Trek to Lukla 2,820 m – 04 hrs.
Day 25:           Flight back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 26:           In Kathmandu free day for individual activities.
Day 27:           International departure for home ward bound.

Day 01:           Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching Kathmandu international airport where our White Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition staff will receive for a short transfer to respective hotels around Thamel area, tourist hub of Kathmandu.

After getting refresh from the flight our guide brief you with information of hotel, Kathmandu and Arun Valley to Everest Base Camp Trekking.

Day 02:           In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
A free day and preparation for the trek to Everest from Arun valley, with an optional sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu city where our guide will show you historical and world heritage sites.

Day 03:           Fly to Tumlingtar 45 mins of scenic flight.
Transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for the flight to Tumlingtar with great views of mountains from Langtang including Mt. Everest, Makalu & Mt. Kanchenjunga, on reaching at Tumlingtar town, a nice place located above Arun River with warm semi-tropical climate, here meet our other staff and porters then s short walk to town area to our lodge for overnight stop, with free afternoon exploring this nice town or a village.

Day 04:           Trek to Katikeghat 840 m- 05 hrs.
A short day walk following Arun River and into forest passing farm villages of Rai tribes and then cross a bridge over Arun River to Katikeghat for overnight stop, here in simple lodge or in tents for overnight stop.

Day 05:           Trek to Gothe bazaar 800 m – 06 hours.
From this village on leaving Arun River climb over a hill with views of Arun valley, walk leads on winding path past farm villages where oranges are grown, our route heads north into rain forest and reaching Baluwabesi villages of Brahman, Chettri and Rai people.

From here walk Gothe Bazaar for overnight stop, a small farm village, famous for Rudrakchhhaya (Hindu’s holy beads).

Day 06:           Trek Salpa Phedi 2,415m – 06 hours.
Walk today leads past rice paddies and villages of Rai and Sherpa people; local produces Nepali paper from local plants Lokta (Dampne papaerius). Trail leads upwards gaining more altitude after leaving warmer area to cooler region at Salpa phedi, the base of Salpa hill with few lodges for overnight halt.

Day 07:           Trek to Guranse 3,075m – 06 hrs.
Morning starts with steep climb into dense alpine forest passing cattle herder shelters, after a tough climb reaching at Guranse for overnight stop. Guranse means “rhododendron flowers” (in spring / summer this place will be alive with flowers in full bloom).

Day 08:           Trek to Guidel 1,640m via Salpa pass -06 hrs.
From this nice spot morning leads with an hour uphill to reaching Salpa pass at 3,349 meters high and then downhill to Sonam village where Sherpa culture starts. After a nice break, from here on winding path to Guidel a large and spread out Rai village for overnight stop in a simple lodge.

Day 09:           Trek to Khiraule 2,360m – 05 hrs.
Morning walk on nice trail then cross a bridge over Hinku River which flows from the glacier of Mera peaks and adjoining mountains, from the bridge a short climb to another large Rai village at Bung, this rice growing area is one of the most fertile lands of eastern Nepal, with Sherpa residing on much higher region. From here an hour climb through farm lands reaching at Khiraule a small village.

Day 10:           Trek to Ghai Kharka 2,450m via Surkhe La 3,100m – 06 hours.
From this village morning starts with climb into cool forest of rhododendron, pines, oaks and hemlock trees to reach at Surki-la also called as Ghai-Kharka pass, a narrow gorge quite dark with thick forest, the pass marked prayer flags and monuments, from here downhill to Ghai-Kharka for overnight stop.

Day 11:           Trek to Pangbung 2,670m – 06hours.
Morning starts with downhill walk to cross a bridge over Hinku Khola which later joins Dudh Kosi River, and then a steep climb to reach Kharte around Sherpa areas.

With a stop and then another hours walk to Pangbung village for overnight stop, a nice Sherpa village.

Day 12:       Trek to Bupsa 2, 250 – 05 hrs.
From here onwards into Khumbu region after quiet time around Arun Valley, walk leads to a climb on wider trail above Khare khola village, into rhododendron and Dhaphne bushes (Nepalese rice paper plant). Walk continues our overnight stop at Bupsa village a small Sherpa village with nice lodge for overnight stop, from here onwards in good lodge to stay as this trail joins the route of Jiri and Lukla / Namche.

Day 13:          Trek to Surkhe 2,295 m – 06 hrs.
Morning climb on winding trail into cool alpine forest passing farm lands and villages to Pyuin village (Paya) stopping here for lunch break, temperature gets cooler on reaching higher Khumbu area. From here walk is pleasant with few ups and downs and gradual walk to Surkhe village located below Lukla.

Day 14:          Trek to Phakding 2,650 m -05 hrs.
From Surkhe climb on winding path to Ghai Kharka or Muse village a large scattered village with high school and a monastery, on this spot joins the Lukla trail encountering many trekkers coming from Lukla with a flight from Kathmandu.

From here walk for an hour with few ups and down passing many smaller villages and farm fields with view of Kusum Kanguru and Kwangde peaks to reach at Phakding village for overnight stop.

Day 15:           Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m -06 hrs.
Morning walk follows Dudh Kosi River re-crossing few times as the walk progress to reach at nice Monjo village, from here to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, from here cross a bridge over Dudh Kosi to Jorsalle the last village before Namche Bazaar.

Afternoon walk leads on a river valley for an hour then uphill for 2 hours to reach Namche Bazaar for overnight stop.
Day 16:           Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.
A rest day for acclimatization at 3,440 meters high, Namche bazaar full of shops, stores, pubs and restaurants, post office, banks, cyber café with fresh bakery, this place flooded with locals shopping specially when Saturday market takes place here.

Day 17:           Trek to Thyangboche 3,867m -05 hours.
After rest in Namche morning walk leads to a small climb and then on winding trail with few ups and down with views of Mt. Everest and adjoining mountains, after few hours of good walk descend to Imjatse River at Phunge Tenga a small place for lunch stop located in the midst of alpine forest.

From here 2 hours climb to Thyagboche Monastery with grand views of mountains that surrounds this lovely spot, includes view of Mt. Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam, with afternoon visit to the monastery and Sherpa culture museum.

Day 18:           Trek to Dingboche 4,430 m – 05 hrs.
From Thyangboche downhill into forest to cross a bridge over Imjatse river, after the bridge a climb with view of Ama Dablam and then to Pangboche village, this is the last permanent Sherpa village, further on just temporary settlements of hotels and lodges for trekkers.

After Pangboche climb up to Somare a small settlement, a popular place for lunch spot on route Pheriche and Dingboche, with lunch break afternoon walk with gentle climb with views of Ama Dablam after hours of good walk cross a bridge and then uphill for an hour to Dingboche for overnight stop, located at Imjatse valley with views of Island / Imjatse peak, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawache and North Face of Ama Dablam.

Day 19:           Trek to Lobuche 4,840 m – 05 hrs.
After Dingboche start the morning walk with a climb to a ridge above Dingboche with Buddhist monuments and prayer flags with views of surrounding snowcapped peaks, from here a gradual uphill walk to Thugla for lunch, a small place with few small lodges located at the end of Khumbu glacier where it melts into a raging Dudh Kosi River.

After a nice stop a steep climb for an hour to reach a ridge top lined with tombs and memorial of unfortunate climbers and mountaineers, from here a nice walk with slight up to reach at Lobuche for overnight halt with views of Nuptse and Changtse peak.

Day 20:           Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,360 m via Gorakshep – 06 hrs.
Today walks leads to our main destination of this wonderful trip to famous Everest Base Camp, morning starts walk to Gorakshep heading North past metrological glass Pyramid station, and over rocky moraine above Khumbu glacier to reach at Gorakshep after few hours of exciting walks, Gorakshep located on route to Everest Base Camp beneath Kalapatthar rocky hill and towering Mt. Pumori, after a break here continue walk for few hours on moraine and rocks to reach at Everest base camp with views of Nuptse, Lhotse, Changtse, Lho-la Lingtren and of Pumori, as Everest lies hidden behind Lho-la and Nuptse peaks views of Khumbu ice falls.

After a wonderful time return to Gorakshep for overnight stop.

Day 21:           Hike to Kalapatthar and trek to Pheriche – 06 hrs
Morning 2 hours hike uphill to Kalapatthar at 5,545 meters, highest spot of this trip offering grand views of surrounding mountains with Mt. Everest at close distance.

After a hard climb with splendid views back to Gorakshep, continue walk downhill to Pheriche reaching back at Thugla, from here our route diverts to Pheriche valley an hour walk on windy valley reaching at Pheriche for overnight stop. Pheriche has HRA post (Himalayan Rescue Association).

Day 22:           Trek to Thyagboche via Pangboche village 3,900 m – 05 hrs.
From Pheriche walk is easier with downhill but with few ups, leading to cross over a river and with 40 minutes climb to a ridge, and then downhill to Pangboche after an hour of good walk back into tree lines. After the bridge a climb for few hours to Thyangboche for overnight stop.

Day 23:           Trek to Monjo village 2,860 m – 06 hrs.
Retracing the journey back to Monjo with downhill walk passing small villages of Lobesa, Shanasa and then to Namche Bazaar, after a rest here continue walk downhill to river bed after crossing two bridges back at Monjo for overnight stop.

Day 24:           Trek to Lukla – 05 hrs with afternoon free.
Today the last walks of this wonderful adventure, morning starts on winding trail passing several villages of Benkar, Toc-toc and Phakding and then Ghat, from Choplong village an hour climb to Lukla for final overnight at Everest region, celebrate evening dinner with guides and porters.

Day 25:           Flight back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Morning transfer to Tenzing-Hillary airport at Lukla, as per the flight a short scenic flight brings you back to Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu transfer to your hotels, afternoon free for individual activities.

Day 26:           Free day in Kathmandu for individual activities.
A free day in Kathmandu for own individual activities or shopping souvenirs on this day can book for another sightseeing tour in and around Kathmandu valley of Bhaktapur / Patan.

Day 27:           International departure for home ward bound.
After a memorable and great adventure in Nepal and Arun Valley to Everest Base Camp trekking with excellent services of White Hills Hill Adventure Treks & Expedition guides, our staff transfers you for final departure homeward bound flights.
